Girl, You Ain’:t Gone Believe This is a touching, realistic and at times funny story following the travails of Chrissy as she deals with her no-good boyfriend Jay and comes to the realization that even though he may be her soul mate, she can’:t be with him. Most of the time Chrissy feels as though she’:s in a relationship by herself and often acknowledges that this is not the relationship she envisioned investing all of her time and energy in. Chrissy continuously puts up with shit from her man that she admits no doubt has her ancestors turning over in their graves. Although Chrissy is very intelligent, when it comes to dealing with Jay she comes off looking relatively stupid to those on the outside looking in. Chrissy is very devoted to Jay and their relationship. Jay on the other hand acts like he could care less about being the relationship. So why doesn’:t Chrissy simply walk away? Like most women in Chrissy’:s situation the first thing out her mouth is, “:I love him.”: Love? Chrissy doesn’:t love the way he treats her, the way he disrespects her nor the fact that he stays out all night. So what exactly is it that she loves about him? Chrissy’:s hooked on them damn leftovers, reminiscents of how Jay USED to be. Leftovers are the sweet things Jay used to do like gifts just because, calls just to say I love you and spending quality time. Chrissy hopes Jay will go back to being the man that swept her off her feet. Finally after 4 years of heartache and crying a river, Chrissy realizes that man is long gone. Will Chrissy continue to stay in her one sided relationship, or will she throw the leftovers down the garbage disposal and flip the damn switch? All I can say is, “:Girl you ain’:t gone believe this.”:
